3 Major Mistakes Leaders Make that Sabotage Their Team's Performance
+3 SUCCESS STRATEGIES THAT INSPIRE MORE TRUST, ENGAGEMENT, AND BETTER PERFORMANCE - A free Masterclass Webinar
As we begin the new year perhaps like me, you are reflecting on the past year and setting goals for 2017.
Have you had a chance to think about your role as a leader and what you will do differently this year?
We know this to be true:
Leaders have a significant influence on the success or failure of their team.
Here’s the reality – if your team isn’t meeting your expectations, you may have a role in this. You may be sabotaging them and not even know it! (And by team, I mean those who report to you or are on a project team you lead.)
If you want to lead your team to a higher level of success in 2017, please keep reading. This is for you…
I’ve seen many (almost all) leaders get frustrated or angry with members of their team. If this happens to you, I assure you, you are not alone!
One way frustration or anger shows up is when results are not delivered.
Frustration can reveal itself in comments like these (either said to yourself or out loud):
- How come I didn’t know about this issue?
- What do you mean you didn’t think this was important?
- Why are you focused on that when this is where you need to put your attention?
- Why didn’t you tell me you wouldn’t have it done by this afternoon?
- We needed it done and now there isn’t time to make a change – we will probably need to redo it!
My client David was quite frustrated with his team. They consistently missed deadlines and the work they delivered didn’t meet his (or the team's) expectations. He led a high-powered team of very competent people.
In our coaching conversations, it became clear that David was making 3 significant mistakes that sabotaged his team, and he didn’t even realize it.
Quite often, unbeknownst to the leader, their actions or inactions contribute to the challenges their team faces. Of course, there are things that team members do that affect their own results. Nevertheless, a successful leader is clear about their personal role in the process.
With this in mind, I’ve created a 1-hour free Masterclass Webinar:
The 3 Major Mistakes Leaders Make that Sabotage their Team’s Performance & Create Communication Breakdowns – and what you can do about it
From my experience as an executive, and in over 20 years coaching clients, I’ve seen that these 3 mistakes are easy to make and are quite common. Plus, they contribute to confusion and even chaos, in the workplace.
Fortunately, you don’t have to go down this unproductive path.
In my webinar, I’ll share 3 success strategies you can implement right away to eliminate these mistakes and inspire more trust, engagement, and better team performance. You’ll see immediate improvements by making just a few changes to how you lead.
One of the biggest challenges for any leader, even for those who are already successful, is effectively supporting and empowering your team.
If you are ready to stop sabotaging your team (inadvertently) and become a more effective and resilient leader, please join me online on:
Wednesday, January 18th
at 12 pm PST / 3 pm EST
I hope you can be there live (online), as I’ll also be answering questions.
The webinar will be recorded, so please register to get the full benefit of this class (I’ll send out a link), even if you can’t attend live.
